Electric scooters have been around for a few years now, mainly as ride-share devices available for rent to the general public for a fast “last few miles trip”.
As their popularity in the ride-share market keeps growing, so does the number of people interested in buying one for their private use. People want to buy them for various reasons. Some want them because they are a relatively eco-friendly mode of transportation, others like their compact size, others buy them for the thrill of a fast ride.
If speed is your main deciding factor for buying an electric scooter, then keep reading. I have compiled a list of the fastest electric scooters available on the market in 2020.
Safety First
Before you step on your fast shiny new electric scooter, you should know that I warned you – electric scooters are not toys. They are ultra-modern transportation devices that can go fast, very fast. They should always be treated with respect and a good dose of common sense.
I personally am not thrilled by going extra fast on my e-scooters. I tend to enjoy the ride as is. However, I do understand that there are folks who like the adrenaline rush of going super fast on their e-scooters.
By virtue of their design, electric scooters provide very little, if any, protection in case of a crash. Riding them at excessive speeds is simply dangerous. For this reason, if you intend to ride any one of the faster electric scooters, you should be wearing a full-face helmet, a crash jacket, protective pads, etc. Always follow traffic laws.
Which electric scooter is the fastest?
This is a list of some of the fastest electric scooters available on the market today. Keep in mind that the published “maximum speed” values are the official values provided by the manufacturers. These are usually recorded at the most optimal circumstances, such as rider weight, level surface, and outside temperature. In other words, you will get close to the official speed of any particular model, but it is possible that you will not hit it on the mark.
Below, is a list of some of the fastest electric scooters currently available on the market.
Nanrobot LS7
Top speed: 85 km/h (52 mph)

When it comes to high-performance electric scooters, Nanrobot is a household name. Anyone who has been around e-scooters for a while, definitely knows this brand.
Nanrobot LS7 is a rugged, high-performance electric scooter. It comes with two 1,800 watt motors and a 60 volt, 35 Ah lithium ion battery. This setup is capable of reaching speeds of 85 km/h (52 mph). The LS7 also comes with 11 inch pneumatic tires that appear to be able to handle off-road riding with ease. If ultimate-performance is on the top of your list and price is not a major factor, then you should definitely take a closer look at the Nanrobot LS7.
Nanrobot D6+
Top speed: 65 km/h (40 mph)

Another e-scooter from the Nanrobot family. I consider it “the little brother” of the LS7. Nonetheless, it still provides some very impressive performance. It runs on 10 inch tires, uses dual 1,000 watt motor and a 52 volt, 26 Ah battery. This combination lets it reach speeds of up to 65 km/h (40 mph).
Overall, its appearance is more classic and not as rugged as the LS7.
Qiewa Q1 Hummer
Top speed: 60 km/h (37 mph)

Qiewa is another household name when it comes to high-performance electric scooters. The Q1 Hummer is a very powerful e-scooter capable of going 60 km/h (37 mph). It comes with dual 800 watt motor, 48 volt, 26 Ah battery and 10 inch pneumatic wheels. It also comes equipped with dual disc brakes.
Although its tires do not look to be made specifically for off-road riding, it apparently is capable of riding 35 degree inclines, which is very impressive. Just to give you a perspective, my good old Xiaomi M365 has a hard time riding 10 degree inclines.
eDrift UH-ES295
Top speed: 35 km/h (22 mph)

The eDrift UH-ES295 is a bit different from the general perception of electric scooters that most people have. It is a 2-person, sit-on, fat-tire moped, rather than an e-scooter. It runs on a 1,500 watt motor powered by a 60 volt, 30 Ah battery.
The eDrift weighs 68 kilograms (150 lbs) and has a carrying capacity of 160 kg (350 lbs).
If you want to ride in style and stand away from the crowd, then the eDrift UH-ES295 is definitely an option to consider.
Massimo Motor KXD
Top speed: 48 km/h (30 mph)

Massimo Motor KXD is a 3-wheel, self-balancing electric scooter. It has a nice modern look and a convenient portable design. Weighing at only 13.5 kg (30 lbs), it can be carried anywhere.
The 350 watt motor will take it to speeds of up to 48 km/h (30 mph).
Swagtron Swagger 5 Elite
Top speed: 29 km/h (18 mph)

Swagtron is another well-known brand of electric scooters, particularly popular in the US. The Swagger 5 Elite is a classy-looking, economy e-scooter “for the people”. It runs on a 250 watt motor powered by a 36 volt, 6 Ah battery. This combination helps keep its price down, at the cost of performance. The Swagger 5 Elite can reach the speeds of 29 km/h (18 mph) for a distance of up to 19 kilometers (11 miles), which may seem ridiculous when compared to other e-scooters. However, even these parameters will be just fine for most people.
Xiaomi M365
Top speed: 25 km/h (15.5 mph)

The most popular electric scooter of all-time. The Xiaomi M365 is a classy-looking, extremely popular and relatively inexpensive e-scooter that is widely popular worldwide. It runs on a 250 watt motor powered by a 36 volt, 7.8 Ah lithium ion battery. It has a range of 29 km (18 mi) and a top speed of 25 km/h (15.5 mph).
What sets the M365 apart from the competition is the availability of parts an add-on accessories. There is a big following available online, ready to help each other with all sorts of issues and problems. Anyone looking to buy an electric scooter should definitely consider the Xiaomi M365 or its more powerful, 300 watt sibling, the M365 Pro.
Segway Max G30
Top speed: 25 km/h (15.5 mph)

The Max G30 is a powerful e-scooter made by another household name on the list that most people are familiar with. At 18 kg (40 lbs), it is somewhat bulkier than the M365, yet it still has some of the looks of a classic electric scooter. Its impressive range of distance of 65 km (40 miles), makes the Max G30 a choice for the power-user. Beginner users or those looking to ride occasionally may be better off with other e-scooters that weigh less, but this is largely an opinion.
The Max G30 has 10 inch pneumatic wheels, a 350 watt electric motor capable of going up to 25 km/h (15.5 mph) and inclines of up to 20 degrees with ease. The 10 inch wheels make the ride much smoother when compared to scooters with smaller wheel sizes.
It has the standard three riding modes: eco, drive and sport, as well as a fourth: walking mode, which is to be enabled when riding in high-pedestrian zones. It limits the speed to 6 km/h (3.7 mph) – a great safety feature.
Zero 10X
Top speed: 65 km/h (40 mph)

The Zero 10x is another high-performance, high-priced scooter aimed for the power user. According to the manufacturer its two 1,000 watt electric motors will take it as fast as 65 km/h (40 mph).

The Zero 10X is capable of carrying a max load of 150 kg (330 lbs). Another option are the hydraulic brakes offered for the more powerful versions.
Overall, the Zero 10X is an excellent choice for the power-user, much less for a beginner looking to ride their e-scooter occasionally.
Dualtron X
Top speed: 100 km/h (60 mph)

The Dualtron X is a well-known name among electric scooter enthusiasts. This high-performance e-scooter made by Korean MiniMotors has specifications that could fit a low-end car, rather than an electric scooter. It has dual 3,350 watt motors, 13 inch tubeless pneumatic tires, a huge 60 volt 49 Ah battery, as well as a very impressive range of distance of 150 km (93 miles).

Dualtron Thunder
Top speed: 80 km/h (50 mph)

The Dualtron Thunder is a step-down version of the Dualtron X. It has the same rugged looks as its bigger sibling and performance that is still very impressive. The Dualtron Thunder is powered by two electric motors for a total power of 5,400 watts. It uses a 60v 35 Ah battery, 11 inch ultra wide pneumatic tires and hydraulic brakes.
This electric scooter is capable of going as fast as 80 km/h (50 mph), but its speed is capped at 25 kmh (15.5 mph) in many markets worldwide. It weighs 43 kg (95 lbs) and has a range of distance of about 120 km (80 mi).

All in all, the Joyor A5 seems to have met or exceeded the specifications of the ever popular M365 or M365 Pro, with the addition of a very modern and sleek looks at a comparable price.
Mantis
Top speed: 40 km/h (65 mph)

Mantis from FluidFreeRide based in Miami, FL is another fast, high-performance electric scooter on the list. With looks similar to the other high-end e-scooters, the Mantis comes with two 1,000 watt electric motors capable of reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h (65 mph). Among other notable features, the Mantis comes equipped with dual semi-hydraulic disc brakes in the base version and full hydraulic brakes in the Pro version. The 2.5 inch wide, 10.5 inch tires, front and rear spring suspension built into swing arms all ensure a smooth ride on most surfaces.
Currus NF
Top speed: 65 km/h (40 mph)

Another high-performance e-scooter from Korea that has been designed with the power-user in mind. The Currus NF has rugged looks and performance specifications of a true power scooter. Its 3600 watt motor powered by a 60 v 28 Ah battery will push it forward to a maximum speed of 65 km/h (40 mph) for a distance of up to 72 km (45 mi).
The 10 inch x 3 inch wide tires ensure super grip in nearly any road conditions. This massive beast has built-in dual disc brakes, apparently allowing the user to come to a halt within 2 seconds of engaging. Although, to be honest, I am not quite sure if it will do that at cruising speed of 65 km/h. I may be wrong.
Turbowheel Lightning+
Top speed: 65 km/h (40 mph)
The Turbowheel Lightning+ is an upgraded version of the base, but still impressive, Turbowheel Lightning electric scooter. The Lightning+ comes with dual 1,200 watt motors and a 60v 1,260 Wh battery. This duo lets the e-scooter reach speeds of up to 65 km/h (40 mph) for a maximum distance of 65 km (40 mi).
Some of the most notable features of the Lightning+ include dual hydraulic disc brakes, key security, a large color dashboard and a choice of street or off-road 10 inch tires.

Outstorm Maxx
Top speed: 90 km/h (56 mph)

The Outstorm Maxx is undoubtedly one of the fastest electric scooters available on the market today. As expected, its general appearance is similar to other high-performance e-scooters, meaning that it looks rugged and tough.

The base model includes a dual 1,600 Watt electric motors that can be upgraded to a dual 2,500 Watt unit for the ultimate power and range of travel. It comes with a choice of five 60 volt battery sizes: 25Ah, 26Ah, 30Ah, 35Ah and 38.5Ah. Depending on which one you choose, the Maxx will reach a maximum speed of 90 km/h (56 mph) and have a total range of travel ranging from 85 kilometers (53 miles) to a whopping 134 kilometers (83 miles).
If that was not enough, this e-scooter has an impressive 175 kg (385 lbs) maximum carrying capacity, making it a perfect choice for heavy adults for whom other less powerful scooters are not recommended. Of note is the fact that the Maxx weighs a whopping 46 kg (101 lbs), as such it may be difficult to handle for adults of lighter posture.
Depending on the version, the Maxx can climb inclines ranging from 30 to 50 degrees. Other notable features include alarm system, full spring suspension, regenerative brakes and an optional seat.
Of note is the fact that it is very difficult to find the manufacturer’s website. I may be wrong, but I would assume that it may be difficult to find replacement parts for the Outstorm.
Qiewa Qpower
Top speed: 90 km/h (56 mph)

The Qiewa Qpower is yet another high-performance off-road electric scooter. Weighing at 37 kg (81.5 lbs), this extreme e-scooter can reach speeds of up to 90 km/h (56 mph). These performance specifications would not be possible without its dual 1,600 Watt electric motors. The 60 volt 26 Ah lithium ion battery gives it enough power to travel a maximum distance of 90 km (55 mi) without recharging.
Being an off-road e-scooter, the Qiewa Qpower can climb 35 degree inclines, thanks to its powerful motors and off-road tires.
The Qpower is an excellent choice of an electric scooter for heavy adults. It has a maximum load capacity of 280 kg (617 lbs).
Other notable features include double hydraulic brakes, double charging interface for fast charging, a seat. The Qiewa Qpower is rated IP5 waterproof, meaning that it can withstand a sustaine low-pressure water jet.
All these features make the Qpower a relatively heavy e-scooter. Weighing at 37 kg (81.5 lbs), it may not be as heavy as the Outstorm Maxx, nonetheless it may be difficult to handle for adults of smaller posture.
Weped GT 50E
Top speed: 72 km/h (45 mph)

Weped GT 50E is also a high-power, high-performance electric scooter that can reach speeds of up to 72 km/h (45 mph). Assembled by hand in Korea, this power-scooter has dual, front and back 1,800 Watt electric motors powered by Samsung INR21700 lithium ion cells. These cells are only slightly larger than the more popular 18650 Li-ion cells, yet they offer 50% greater battery capacity. The 60v 30 Ah battery gives the GT 50E a whopping 97 km (60 mi) maximal range of distance.
Compared to other high-performance e-scooters, the Weped GT 50E has a very nice appearance. Overall, it looks tough and very rugged, but not amateurish. Besides the looks, the GT 50E has more noteworthy features. It has been fitted with front suspension and rear bushing setup, giving it a nice and smooth ride.
Its Shinko tubeless 5.5’ wide tires give it excellent grip in off-road environment. As a matter of fact, the GT 50E is capable of climbing inclines of up to 50%.
Other features include: weight 35 kg (77 lbs), maximum load capacity 100 kg (220 lbs), as well as front and rear drum brakes.
Given its impressive performance specifications, the Weped GT 50E is another example of electric scooter perfectly suited for heavy adults, as well as those looking for adrenaline rush while riding.
Razor E-XR
Top speed: 27 km/h (17 mph)

The Razor E-XR found its place on this list not because it is the fastest e-scooter, but mainly because it is one of the most powerful electric scooters in the Razor line. Razor scooters are the staple of the electric scooter industry. They were being made way before the e-scooter craze. Anyone who knows anything about electric scooters will definitely know the company.
The Razor E-XR has a top speed of 27 km/h (17 mph) and a maximum range of distance of 25.6 km (16 mi) or up to 60 minutes of continuous riding. Razor scooters stand out from the crowd and the E-XR is no different. It is not common for e-scooters to have different size tires, but the E-XR has a 9 inch pneumatic tire in the front and an 8 inch airless, flat0free tire in the rear.
The E-XR has been built on a heavy-duty steel frame and equipped with a 350 Watt brushless electric motor and a 36 V lithium-ion battery. It has one rear brake that is operated manually. It has a maximum load capacity of 100 kg (220 lbs). It is intended for adult riders over the age of 18.
The Razor E-XR is an excellent entry-level electric scooter. However, due to its limited range of distance and time of travel it may not be a perfect choice for power commuters.
Razor E200
Top speed: 19 km/h (12 mph)

Razor E200 is likely the only electric scooter on this list intended for teens 13 years of age and older. Understandably it does not have the top performance specifications of other high-performance e-scooters. Yet, it is a very common e-scooter used by teenagers and for that reason it has been included on this list, because it is one of the fastest electric scooters intended for teenagers.
The Razor E200 has a top speed of 19 km/h (12 mph). Its 24 volt battery provides enough power for up to 40 minutes of continuous use. Quite characteristically of the Razor line, the E200 is chain-driven and powered by a 200 Watt electric motor.
The E200 has two 8 inch pneumatic tires, hand-operated rear brake, and two 12 volt sealed lead-acid batteries that operate the motor. It weighs 17 kg (38 lbs) and has a maximum carrying capacity of 70 kg (154 lbs). It can also be equipped with an optional seat.
Rion RE90 Racing Edition
Top speed: 160 km/h (100 mph)
Dubbed a “Hyper Scooter”, the Rion RE90 Racing Edition is in a class of its own. This beast, hand-made in Los Angeles, has a top speed of 160 km/h (100 mph), limited to 130 km/h (80 mph). It has an estimated maximum range of distance of 96 km (60 miles) and weighs 31 kg (69 lbs).
The manufacturer claims that the RE90 is capable of extreme acceleration and from the comparison with other e-scooters it’s probably the right term to describe its possibilities.
The Rion RE90 is definitely not an entry-level scooter, it probably isn’t even a commuter’s choice, but it is the perfect choice for power users looking for extreme experiences. Unfortunately, at a cost of a used car, the Rion RE90 is only available to a few lucky individuals.
Ninebot ES4
Top speed: 30 km/h (18.6 mph)

The Ninebot line of electric scooters is characterized by a sleek and modern design, as well as decent performance specifications. Its 300 Watt electric motor powered by a 36 volt, 374 Wh battery let the Ninebot ES4 reach top speed of 30 km/h (18.6 mph) with a maximum range of travel of 45 km (28 mi). These are the same specifications as those found on the Xiaomi M365 Pro.
The Ninebot ES4 comes equipped with two batteries: internal and external/removable. Given its decent performance specifications and a very nice design, the Ninebot ES4 would easily beat the M365 in sales, had it not been for its slightly higher price.
Xiaomi M365 Pro
Top speed: 25 km/h (15.5 mph)

Xiaomi M365 Pro is undoubtedly one of the most popular electric scooters worldwide. Largely built on the base of the original M365, the M365 Pro has a stronger 300 Watt motor and a higher-capacity (36v, 12,800 mAh) battery which increases its maximal range of distance to 45 km (28 miles). The top speed has been capped due to legal reasons at 25 km/h (15.5 mph).
This performance package along with a relatively low price makes the M365 Pro a perfect electric scooter for the casual user, as well as regular commuters.
The Xiaomi M365 line of e-scooters has one additional benefit which so far has not been matched by any other scooter. Their popularity resulted in a vast array of third-party parts and accessories, as well as a tremendous fan base online. These individuals are ready to help each other with any questions, concerns or ideas concerning the M365 model lines. This sole ability to get answers from other riders, just like you, is a reason to put the M365 on your buyer’s checklist.
Weped SS
Top speed: 130 km/h (80 mph)

The Korean-made Weped SS is in a league of its own. With a maximum speed of 130 km/h (80 mph), it currently is the fastest electric scooter available on the market. Weped SS is not available at most retailers. Individuals interested in purchasing must contact Weped to place the order., because every Weped SS is made to order.
The SS has some very impressive features, such as a 72 volt, 45 A battery giving it a maximum range of travel of up to 130 km (75 miles), hydraulic brake, a patented vacuum-filled Shinko tires, LED lights. Its overall design and appearance are light years ahead of other high-performance electric scooters.
Overall, the Weped SS is an excellent choice for a power-user looking for top-quality performance and looks.
Conclusion
By no means is this list a comprehensive collection of the fastest electric scooters available on the market today.
The electric scooter market is relatively new. New companies are forming and others are closing down. It is nearly impossible to follow the choices provided by the market.
